This is an episode of Inside the Tent, a podcast going behind the scenes of Campside’s award winning shows.

As God’s Banker climbs the podcast charts in the United States and Italy, Nic, Adam and Anthony gather Inside the Tent to discuss how you might approach an adaptation of the show. To start, it sounds like the podcast series premise was made up:
Roberto Calvi, a man guarding a dangerous secret about the Vatican Bank’s criminal activities, sends a threatening letter to the Pope. A week later on June 17th, 1982, he’s found dead hanging from a bridge in London. British police call it suicide, but questions and conspiracies swirl.
Forty years on, Nic gets a tip there might be more to the story and embarks on a quest to uncover the truth. Was Roberto Calvi, known as God’s Banker, killed? And if so, by whom?
This is not a Dan Brown novel. God’s Banker is a true story, and it’s a story about money that takes us from Rome to the Bahamas and ultimately London.
Notably, this is a podcast that can be adapted into a limited series, a movie or even an unlimited series. The conversation covers threads overlooked in the audio version that could be part of an adaptation and all the potential ways to draw in an audience. Could God’s Banker be turned into a European version of The Wire?
Shadow Kingdom: God’s Banker is a production of Campside Media and Crooked Media.
